Membership in the society is available to those individuals who are active in the field of healthcare engineering and related healthcare fields.
Membership in the society becomes effective upon recommendation of the Secretary and approval by the KSHE Board of Trustees along with a completed application form and receipt of the specified dues.
Membership is for those employed in a healthcare-related profession at a healthcare facility.
Associate Membership is for those employed in a profession other than healthcare or are a healthcare vendor/contractor.

Why Join?
The Kentucky Society of Healthcare Engineers (KSHE) is a professional society devoted exclusively to the education, development and expansion of skill and standards of the Environment of Care disciplines, as performed in healthcare facilities.
KSHE’s members are those professionals who are interested in personal advancement and who engage in one or more of the following healthcare team responsibilities:

What does KSHE do for its members?
Regularly scheduled educational meetings on such topics as engineering management, energy conservation, preventive maintenance, managing a medical equipment program, electrical safety, fire safety and codes, and standards updates, are held throughout the year.
Semi-annual statewide conferences are held to learn the latest information on current issues from the experts and to exchange ideas with society members from across the state.
Also, members are provided with an official list of all members, officers, committees and sponsors.
How does KSHE benefit the profession?
KSHE activities help members to further develop their professional abilities and provides opportunities for members to exchange ideas and keep abreast of their discipline through its meetings, contact with members, its quarterly newsletter and the interactive KSHE website.
KSHE offers a Certified Healthcare Engineer program to provide recognition for members who excel and to motivate those who wish to excel, and sponsors programs designed to encourage its members to participate in industry professional certifications, such as Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager (CHFM) and Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA).
KSHE Districts: The four districts provide KSHE members with the opportunity to exchange ideas and sponsor educational sessions in their local area.
